About the Press

Continuing the tradition of academic publishing since 1575, Vilnius University Press constantly publishes scientific, informational, representative, science popularization books, study literature, scientific periodicals, and doctoral dissertations. Vilnius University Press is a leader of academic publishing houses not only in Lithuania, where it is in the top ten of all Lithuanian publishing houses (including commercial ones) in terms of the number of titles of books published, but also in the Baltic States. Every year, Vilnius University Press publishes about 40 volumes of scientific periodicals and 50-60 titles of books, which are presented at the Vilnius Book Fair and the world's largest book fairs in Frankfurt and London.

All books and scientific articles published by Vilnius University Press are reviewed. The publisher operates in accordance with the guidelines published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and supports the principles of ethical publishing. The guidelines apply to publisher editors, authors, and reviewers. In publishing possible misconduct, the publishing house follows the structural schemes of COPE.
