Jūratė Baranova
Jūratė Baranova (official name Rubavičienė, nickname Ana Audicka) is Professor of Philosophy at Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (Department of Philosophy). She is the author of the books in Lithuanian: 20th Century Moral Philosophy: Conversation with Kant (Vilnius: Publishing House of Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, 2004, 2015), Philosophy and Literature: Contradictions, Parallels and Intersections (Vilnius: Tyto alba, 2006), Nietzsche and Postmodernism (Vilnius: Publishing House of Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, 2007), Cinema and Philosophy (with co-authors, Vilnius: Vilnius University Publishing House, 2013), The Phenomenon of Jurga Ivanauskaitė: Between Surrealism and Existentialism (Vilnius: Tyto alba, 2014). She also edited and published the books in English: Between Visual and Literary Creation: Tarkovsky and Ivanauskaitė (Scholars’ Press, 2015), Lithuanian Philosophy: Persons and Ideas (The Council for Research in Values and Philosophy, 2000), Contemporary Philosophical Discourse in Lithuania (The Council for Research in Values and Philosophy, 2005). Recently she is writing the book Gilles Deleuze: Philosophy and Arts (with co-authors). She is a member of the Lithuanian Writers Union, published literary essay books: Meditations: Texts and Images (Vilnius: Tyto alba, 2004) and The Fear to Drown (Vilnius, Apostrofa, 2009).
