Lina Vidauskytė

Lina Vidauskytė is a historian and philosopher who graduated from Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas and is currently employed at Kaunas University of Technology, Department of Philosophy and Psychology. Her sphere of interests includes philosophy of religion, media philosophy, orality and literacy, visuality, philosophical practice. Lina Vidauskytė published a monograph about Nobel Prize winner (1980) Cz. Miłosz Reality and Literature. Czesław Miłosz’s Literature as Philosophy (Kaunas: Technologija, 2007). Also, she is the author of a number of articles on Walter Benjamin, Martin Heidegger, Jacques Derrida, Simone Weil, Hans Blumenberg, etc. One of her basic ideas is the impact of a transformational function of writing (and printing press) to Western culture and philosophy.
