Cardiovascular magnetic resonance parametric mapping. Methodological recommendations
Mokomoji priemonė medicinos studentams, rezidentams ir gydytojams.
Cardiovascular magnetic resonance mapping of T1, T2, T2* and extracellular volume fraction provides quantitative information on changes of magnetic tissue properties, which reflect alterations of myocardial tissue composition. CMR mapping methodology has left behind the early stages of principal implementation and validation, and robust techniques are available for commercial CMR systems. Recent developments in parametric mapping show considerable promise in CMR, as they can greatly improve diagnosis and patient welfare. By preparing these methodological recommendations, we aimed to provide a concise and comprehensive summary on the rationale, indications, and evidence of CMR parametric mapping and to present our clinical experience while using this technique. The publication is intended for medical students, fellows and physicians.
