Laser Physics: Lecture notes

Lasers and laser-related technologies are an integral part of modern science and are widely used in many areas of everyday life. This textbook provides the basic principles of laser operation, describes the underlying physical effects and gives an overview of relevant scientific and technological innovations that make possible generation and amplification of ultrashort light pulses. The material presented here is intended for Vilnius Faculty of Physics undergraduate students of Physics and Light engineering study programmes, but is also suitable to anyone with a background in natural sciences, interested in this subject.
