Richard A. Cohen

Richard A. Cohen is Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Institute of Jewish Thought and Heritage at the University at Buffalo (SUNY). He is the author of Elevations: The Height of the Good in Rosenzweig and Levinas (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1994), Ethics, Exegesis and Philosophy: Interpretation after Levinas (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2001), Levinasian Meditations: Ethics, Philosophy, and Religion (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Duquesne University Press, 2010), Out of Control: Confrontations between Spinoza and Levinas (State University of New York Press, 2016) and numerous articles in contemporary continental philosophy, co-organizer of the Levinas Philosophy Summer Seminar, editor of several volumes, and translator of four books by Emmanuel Levinas.
