Narrative des Umbruchs / Narratives of Transition / Lūžio naratyvai

Der Übergang zahlreicher postsowjetischer bzw. postsozialistischer Länder Mittel- und Osteuropas zum westlichen Demokratie- und Wirtschaftsmodell verlief zwischen 1989 und 2022 unter sehr verschiedenen Voraussetzungen. Ausgehend von den Beziehungen Deutschlands und der baltischen Staaten erkunden die hier versammelten Beiträge diese Epoche der Transformation von ihrem Ende her: mit (zeit)historischer, literatur- und politikwissenschaftlicher sowie ökonomischer und soziologischer Expertise. Das verbindende Element ist hierbei die jeweilige sprachliche Adressierung des Umbruchs – also die Art und Weise, wie Transformation erzählt bzw. in Narrativen verschlagwortet wird und wurde. Stellungnahmen einer Podiumsdiskussion zwischen wissenschaftlichen und politischen sowie diplomatischen Vertretern über Fragen der EU- und Westorientierung in der Region beschließen den Band.

The transition of numerous post-Soviet and post-socialist countries in Central and Eastern Europe to the Western model of democracy and economy between 1989 and 2022 proceeded under very different conditions. Taking the relations of Germany and the Baltic states as a starting point, the con tributions collected here explore this era of transformation from its conclusion: drawing on expertise in contemporary history, literary studies, political science, economics, and sociology. The connecting element here is the respective linguistic framing of the upheaval – that is, the way in which transfor mation is and has been communicated and labeled in narratives. The volume concludes with state ments from a panel discussion among academic, political, and diplomatic representatives on issues of EU and Western orientation in the region.

Daugelio posovietinių ir posocialistinių Vidurio ir Rytų Europos šalių perėjimas prie vakarietiško demokratijos ir ekonomikos modelio 1989–2022 m. vyko labai skirtingomis sąlygomis. Remiantis Vokietijos ir Baltijos valstybių santykiais kaip atspirties tašku, knygoje pateiktuose straipsniuose nagrinėjamas šis transformacijos laikotarpis iš jo pabaigos perspektyvos, pasitelkiant (šiuolaikinės) istorijos, literatūros, politikos mokslų, ekonomikos ir sociologijos žinias. Šį leidinį vienija atitinkamas lingvistinis permainų apibūdinimas, t. y. būdas, kuriuo transformacija yra ir buvo pasakojama ar apibūdinama naratyvuose. Leidinį užbaigia akademinių, politinių ir diplomatinių atstovų pasisakymai diskusijos metu, skirti ES ir Vakarų orientacijos klausimams regione.
