David Östlund

David Östlund is Associate Professor in intellectual history at Södertörn University, Stockholm. He is also an affiliated researcher at the Swedish Institute for North American Studies (SINAS) at Uppsala University, and was a visiting lecturer and researcher at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2004, 2011 and 2017–2018. In a major part of his research, David Östlund has explored modern social, political and economic thought in the USA and Sweden with a comparative approach. His current research is related to his teaching within teacher education, and deals with the movement for “intercultural education” in the United States between 1925–1958.
