Ugnius Mikučionis

Ugnius Mikučionis is Associate Professor at the Department of Linguistic, Literary and Aesthetic Studies at the University of Bergen, where he teaches the Norwegian language and culture for foreign language students. Ugnius Mikučionis received his PhD from Vilnius University in 2012 for his dissertation on modality and Norwegian modal verbs. In addition to linguistics and Norwegian as a foreign language, his research interests include medieval philology and Old Norse studies. He is a member of the International Arthurian Society, the Viking Society for Northern Research, Félagið Vinir Snorra, and the Norwegian Heraldry Society. In recent years, he has focused on dwarfs and dragons in Old Norse literature and Nordic folklore.
